HOW DO I COMPLETE AND SUBMIT ASSIGNMENTS
*Please also review the Academic Integrity page!
First, you need to make sure that you have read the lesson. You must then complete the assessment (Assignments may ask you to write an essay, develop a presentation, or create a diagram. Completing a Quiz or Exam requires you to review the lesson or module by studying your notes.) Finally, you will access and submit your assessment for grading.
You will access your assessments in Assessments. There are three different types of assessments:
Assignments are completed in a program, such a Microsoft Word or PowerPoint, submitted as a file attachment, and graded by your Instructor. Assignments that do not require images or illustrations, chart completions, or graphic organizers can simply be typed and submitted in the Students Comments section.
Quizzes are multiple choice and automatically graded by the system when you click Submit. If the quiz contains any essay questions, those will need to be teacher graded. A student can attempt to take a quiz up to three times.
Exams are similar to quizzes, although an exam can only be reset one time by a teacher ONLY if you receive a failing grade on your first attempt. Segment Exams will always require a password for access, and can only be taken when all coursework has been completed.
Note: A pre-assessment or pre-test may be at the beginning of each Module in your course. This is a multiple choice exam which can only be taken one time. This will assess your prior knowledge of the material covered in this Module, so this assessment cannot be re-taken. Module Exams and Segment Exams are also multiple choice and can be re-taken one time only if the student receives a failing grade on the first attempt. It is important to prepare for these assessments properly and do not access them until you feel ready and confident that you will succeed.
Please keep in mind that quizzes and exams can lock you out if you open or switch screens, exit the exam, or remain inactive for a period of time. If you are locked out of an exam, notify your teacher.
After you open an Assignment, fill in the proper information. Add your text and/or attach your
file (.rtf, .pdf, .doc, .docx, .ppt, .pptx, .jpg). Be sure to check the box if you want to Submit your work to the Instructor. If you do not check the box, your work will be saved, but not submitted for grading. If you save your work for later, return to the Assessments area and open the same Assignment title to continue.
How do I review a completed assignment that I already submitted?
Go to Gradebook and click on the assignment. You will see your grade for that assignment as well as teacher feedback. Unless otherwise stated, you can resubmit an assignment for a higher grade.
